ROBBY ANDREWS
U.S. OLYMPIAN 2019 In H.S., Robby set national records in the 1000 (2:22.28) and 800 (1:49.21) meters. As a collegiate athlete at the University of Virginia, he then went on to win two NCAA individual championships. In 2012, Robby signed a professional contract with Adidas Corporation and would earn spots on 6 USA international teams winning a bronze medal at the 2014 World Relays and anchoring the USA 4x800 relay to a gold medal at the 2015 World Relays. Competing in the 2016 World Indoor Championships, Robby would finish in 4th place in the final of the 1500, missing the gold medal by a mere .52 seconds. The highlight of his career however, was his participation in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. KYLE MERBER
COLLEGIATE RECORD HOLDER 2015 In H.S., Kyle ran for Half Hallows Hills West out in L.I. He was a 1x National Champion 3x NY State Federation Champion, and won the H.S. Boys Mile at the Millrose Games during his senior year. In college, he bloosomed at Columbia University while winning 10 Ivy League Titles and set the American Collegiate Record in the 1500 meters. Today, Kyle runs for Hoka One One and the NJ*NY Track Club. He races in some of the most prestigious races in the world including the Wanamaker Mile at the Millrose Games. ELITE RUNNER 2013 Jesse has won numerous Island, Sectional & Intersectional titles while in H.S. at St. Joseph by-the-Sea H.S. She also won a NYS Federation Title in the 600 meters. In college, she was a multiple Heps champ at the Univ of Pennsylvania. She was a 12x school record holder for the Quakers and a 2x All-American. She ran professionally and a major highlight was a 3rd place finish in the 2010 U.S. Indoor Nationals in the 800 meters. She has competed at two U.S. Olympic Trials. Her current 800 PR is 2:03.49 FAT |

TOM FLEMING
2x NYC MARATHON CHAMP 2012, 2016 Tom has a storied running career in the marathon. He won the NYC Marathon two times (1973 and 1975) and finished second in Boston twice (1973 and 1974) as well. In 1977, at the “unofficial” World Marathon Champs in Fukuoka, Japan, Tom finished in 5th place. At one time, Tom held the American records in the 15 mile, 20 mile, 25k, 30k and 50k distances. He has broken 2:20 in the marathon 27 times and has a best of 2:12.05. Tom spoke at our camp in 2012, 2016 and was very well received by our campers. He has since passed away and he is sorely missed by our IRC athletes. |
JOHN CERBONE, PHD
CERTIFIED HYPNOTIST 2011 Why a Hypnotist? Did you know that most professional sports teams have a hypnotist on staff or on call to help players stay mentally fit! Dr. Cerbone has done seminars throughout the country and has appeared on Fox News and on MTV in the show “Hypnotize My Roomate.” In 2011 at Inspiration Running Camp, Dr. Cerbone discussed ways to visualize success while training/racing! He performed a group relaxation technique and even hypnotized a few campers! |
CHARLIE MARSALA
S.I. HALL OF FAMER 2011 Charlie had a phenomenal H.S. career at New Dorp H.S. while setting S.I. and PSAL records from the 1,000 to 3,200 meters. In H.S., he ran 2:25 (1,000), 4:09 (3:51 - 1500), 9:00 (3,200), 9:14 (Steeple) and 12:36 at VCP. In college, he was a 2x All-American for Indiana. His career best in the 1500 came at the Santa Monica Classic where he ran 3:37.46, which converts to a 3:54 mile. At the 1992 Olympic Trials, he took 4th missing a qualifying spot on the Olympic team by 6 tenths. In total, he ran the equivalent of 15 SUB 4 MILES! Professionally his PR's are 1:46 in the 800 and 3:54 in the mile. In 2011, Charlie answered a lot of questions about racing at the top level. |
