COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR 2021
Updated 7/12/21
Our primary goal at IRC is to return our athletes safe and motivated for put together their best XC/track & field seasons of their careers. We understand the loss that HS students and really all students have felt due to COVID-19 and are doing all we can to get this year's camp to safely operate this summer. We KNOW how much athletes need camp but to operate successfully we need full compliance with our COVID-19 safety protocols.
NEGATIVE PCR TEST WITHIN 72 HRS OF CAMP OR PROOF OF VACCINE
All athletes and coaches must submit a COVID-19 negative PCR test (not rapid) before boarding a camp bus or being dropped off at camp. The test must be administered within 72 hours of camp. The only exception to this rule is if any athlete/coach has been fully vaccinated (14 days following a second dose). Proof must be provided upon boarding a bus or being dropped off at camp. NO EXCEPTIONS
FACE COVERINGS
All athletes and coaches MUST wear a face covering during camp bus transportation whether they are vaccinated or not. Failure to do so, will result in an ejection from camp. Face coverings in normal camp activities or recreation time is encouraged but not mandated.
DAILY HEALTH SCREENINGS
Each morning, ALL campers and staff will have their temperature taken by a non-contact, thermometer. A staff member will then ask the following questions:
1) “Since yesterday have you felt: fever, chills, fatigue, muscle aches, headache, chills, or trouble breathing?
2) “Have you tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days?
3) “Have you had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days?”
4) “Have you traveled internationally in the last 10 days”
GROUPING
Campers will be placed in static cohorts of no larger than 36. Campers will not be allowed to be indoors AT ANY TIME with any campers that are not in their cohort. Cohorts will be divided up based primarily on team affiliation but small changes may occur. During all practices, meetings and meals campers from different cohorts will be spaced by 6-10 feet between other cohorts. All camp meetings, practices and stretching will take place outside whenever possible. The cafeteria will be used at 50% occupancy and we may have different meal times depending on enrollment numbers.
DAILY SAFETY & CLEANSING
Campers will have ample opportunities to clean their hands and we request that each camper have a personalized hand sanitizer bottle in their possession. Camp staff will stress proper hand hygiene before and after camp activities.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
Our kids NEED camp. We’re all aware of how terrible last year’s school year ended and how disappointed we all were with how the 2020-2021 school year has gone. Camp has been an opportunity for the kids to experience “normal.”
Our priority has always been, from our very first year, to give your kids the absolute BEST SUMMER POSSIBLE
After suffering this past school year, they NEED CAMP this summer
Mentally
Socially
Emotionally
We’re happy to bring it to you!
